Let me set the record straight on Dakota, it rocks – Virbila=clueless

Went last night, the hotel restoration is no expense spared and flawless – looks like some of the Spanish tiles are the only thing left – its personal, but I love the space more than anything that comes to mind. There is a huge lounge area off the side of the restaurant to hang out, drink or just relax – dark, romantic and comfortable and talk about subdued and comfortable, the restaurant has it all – lots of space between tables, lots of stuff covered in black leather, nice windows and treatments, again – I LOVE THIS PLACE. On the to food, billed as a steak joint, there are plenty of other options to choose from – we had the short ribs and pork chop, both were delightful and perfectly prepared and ample portions and priced well in the low 20’s – I would say the chop is right behind saddle peak, maybe better smoke and the ribs as good as lucques, I kid you not – tons of great sides – onion rings are good but they use a lot of cream in stuff so weight watching folks might want to ask before hand. Wine list is not interesting and expensive – corkage is $ 25 I think. Dinner came out just as we were finishing the starters so desert was n/c. 3 different bread choices, all good, good butter, great stems, great understated service – I see no downside with the place other that a reservation may be hard to get. Lots of industry and beautiful people so if that turns you off then be warned. I could care less so bottom line is I can’t wait to go back.
