I have received so far two false reservation notifications from seatme.com.
Anyone has similar experiences?
Long time ago, when I was having an oyster dinner in LES, I received a phone call from Blanca telling me that I was supposed to show up that night for a reservation of four people that was supposedly made via seatme.com, which I never made. I explained to them that I never made such reservation and I was saved from any no show penalty. I certainly felt sorry for Blanca though. It meant they lost business for four people that night, due to the system error of seatme.com.
Today, I received an email from seatme.com telling me that I was supposed to show up at Sushi Nakazawa two hours ago, for party of two.
The contact number in the email, which was supposed to be my phone number, was not my number at all.
Neither of these false 'reservations' appears on my historical reservation list page at seatme.com. Only my past legitimate reservations appear.
What is going on here? I always honor my reservations and in the event that I can't, I always call them well in advance. Also, I am a single diner and I sometimes reserve for two but I hardly make reservations for more than three people. Another friend of mine also told me she once received an email notification about a reservation she never made.
Seatme.com seems to have some serious errors in its reservation system. It makes me feel really bad because, although it's not my fault, the restaurants involved will have to go through business loss.
