Way way back when Hong Kong was under British rule, my old high school used to serve these wicked meat pies. I think they were frozen, but tasted so darn good.
Fast forward almost 20 years....I am still missing that flavor. Unfortunately I don't know if it was British, Scottish, Australian style meat pie, or if was actually a shepherd's pie (I still think it was meat pie, but it had more than just plain minced meat in it).
So my most recent purchase of a British meat pie was from British Foods in San Carlos (frozen section) and I had a chance to try two frozen varieties they carried. Unfortunately they were severely lacking and not very interesting (even the crust wasn't fulfilling or flakey/thick enough).
So where can a bloke get a good homey flavored meat pie (either dine in, or to go or from a supermarket/deli...or ...pub?), hopefully within the Peninsula area, fresh or frozen, and not too salty?
