After attending to some personal business downtown, I walked past the Fourseasons and, for lunch, decided to pay Cafe Boulud a revisit.
After ordering, I sat back and start getting my photographic gear ready for the 'food photo-shoot'. To my horror, the 'LOW BATTERY WARNING' sign started flashing!!! From that moment on, all I can think of was 'Please God, let my battery have enough juice for a just few photos'!! Well, from my posting, my prayer was answered!!
Back to the food, these were what I ordered:
- Charcuterie Du Jour: Happened to be my favorite ox-tongue head-cheese!! What luck! Those house made pickles were 'cute'!!
- Cumbrae Dry-aged Hanger Steak Frites with Crispy Garlic, Rosemary, Tomato & Tamarind Sauce. 'Super Greens' salad??? Steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly rare as requested. Lovely crust!
- Chocolate Medley with Espresso Ice-cream. Pretty and tasty as usual.
- Freshly Baked Madelines
Although nowhere close to New York Cafe Boulud's standard, sophistication and quality, the food today, by Toronto's standard, was quite delicious and more than acceptable!
