I was really looking forward to my first meal at Savoy bistro last night.
We started with the steak tartare ($10) which was tasty with shallots and accompanying brioche.
I followed it with the striped bass with puttanesca stew ($19) which was okay but certainly not memorable. my partners (2) had the organic irish salmon which was okay but not amazing either ($19)--according to them. One Side dish of spinach ($6) was same as I could make at home in 30 seconds. Dessert followed, with chocolate mousse (decent) and lemon pudding (the best part of the meal). 2 glasses of wine, 2 cocktails and one espresso were also consumed. Bill was $170 before tip. Though the surroundings were delightful the meal was definitely disappointing for the price.
