I go to Alfanoose for lunch nearly every week for the best felafel in the city. Usually, the line extends out the door. The shawarma! The kibbeh! Oohh, the hummus!
I don't know what is going on, but lately there has been no line. I was there today, and I was the only customer there! Muhammed, who owns/runs the place said it's due to all the layoffs downtown, and he seemed concerned about it. This can't be! What will I do for felafel in this area of the city?
What a culinary wasteland it is here in lower Manhattan! There are three McDonald's a Wendy's a Burger King, and other assorted garbage... and they're ALWAYS crowded. Go figure.
Chowhounds unite! Help save Alfanoose!
Fulton St, off Broadway. Let's make a long line!
