Sauteeing mushrooms - in the oven?

I have to brown some mushrooms. Or more accurately, MANY mushrooms. Like close to 10 lb. Is there any reason not to dump them in a single layer in a few sheet pans with some oil or butter and then pop em in the oven at, say, 450 f? A stir every now and then?

Has anyone tried this? Would I be guaranteeing myself steamed mushrooms rather than nicely browned?
