Here is a portion of my report from LA, this is the Santa Barbara day trip I took!
Sunday: Santa Barbara day trip
-Coffee from 7-11 and we were off!
-We made the journey to La Super Rica. Obviously, the line was long, but the wait was worth it. I didn't know how much to order, so I got too much. Luckily, I was with two other people who helped me out. I stuck mainly to the specials board. From the specials I got the pork pozole, which was good, but not exactly my thing (too meaty/fatty). Also from the specials...the shredded beef tacos with an avocado cream sauce. These were the winners, simple and fresh. yum. I also got an order of gaucamole, which I though was a little plain, not salty/spicy enough and the chorizo tacos which I also enjoyed alot. I got to taste the tamale with has corn, zuchinni and potato.
-Dinner at Pascucci. Decent pastas, cheap and varied wine list. (I has a KJ Johannisburg Riesling for 4.25, nice!). Don't know if this is a destination or not, but it was pretty packed.
-Also, toured the Jaffurs winery, met the winemaker, lots of fun. Tasted right from the barrels too, what a treat!
