Is it possible to salvage a casserole that you stuck uncooked rice into?
I'm horrible with reading recipes ahead of time... and normally my family isn't eating until a lot later than planned because I missed the "simmer for an hour and a half" comment.
Well, this time, I sat down - read the recipe. Measured out all of my ingredients and began to work on my dish. I figured because it called for 2 cups of milk, the rice was to cook while baking. Well I was wrong. As I pulled the casserole out of the oven, the rice was still small and raw looking. I went back to the cook book and saw the "cooked" notation next to the rice. I'm a genius.
So, back to the point - is there anyway to get the rice cooked in this dish so I don't have to trash the entire thing?
