Yesterday's Times Metropolitan Diary feature carried a vignette that began "Being near Pennsylvania Station at suppertime recently, I stopped in to have dinner at my favorite salad bar. As I approached the Long Island Rail Road area . . ." (The rest of the vignette had nothing to do with food.) As a loyal but out-of-town chowhound, my curiousity was piqued! What is she talking about? So many times I have raced to the Amtrak wishing there was some place right there where I could get a salad to take on the train and prolong just a wee bit my Manhattan experience.
Anybody know to where the writer was referring? Any other suggestions for salad bar within one block radius of Penn?
