Sake House Miro

Making a dash for the weekend, I treat myself to an lunch at Sake House. This is a place I've been meaning to try. Lunch is served up until 2PM and I walked in at quarter til.....already a bad start. The friendly waitress gave me the menu. I decided to make due with the time I had and order a few items. I ordered the Japanese Fried Chicken and Shisito peppers. I also ordered two orders of hamachi/yellowtail and shiro maguro/albacore sushi. My lunch came with a house salad (mixed lettuce and a shoyu-garlic dressing) and miso soup. Highlight of the lunch was the chicken. Boneless morsels fried and served with the house mayonaise. The shisito was served with bonito flakes, but lacked the flavor of their bretheren served at Sushi Ryo. The sushi was par for the course as it was nothing to rave about - - should have stuck to the warnings about the sushi.

All this plus one beer came out to 29 before tip. It's a great place to come with friends and drink and order some more of the tapas on the menu. Decent food and other potential finds on the menu, a funky decor and a smokin hot waitress will probably call for a return visit, perhaps with a party of some friends and a readiness for sake and beer.
