I really like the kind spirit and "tough love" Robert Irvine brings to his shows and really hated to see him go for his hummus, but the fact that Chiarello's pasta worked out sealed his fate. I thought for sure he'd make it further in the competition.
As a Chopped fan, it's nice to see some of the judges compete and be humbled, especially Alex who's toughness is embellished a bit I think to add interest and drama to the show. She is obviously a very sensitive and passionate chef with high expectations of herself and full of anxiety which has made her more real. Zakarian will have trouble following the rules of the show and that may very well be his downfall, but at the end of the day is food will always be amazing (as much as we all hate him sometimes lol)
The other chefs who I am not so familiar with are definitely surprising me with their talents while others disappointingly play it safe. This is by far probably the most enthralled I've been with a televised cooking competition since the Chopped: AllStars show! Can't wait for more action....
