After choking down a vile slice of sacrapantina cake at Rose Pistola yesterday afternoon, I asked my server why the cake was so different from it's usual yumminess. She told me that the pastry chef, Galen, had moved on to the Acme Chop House at Pac Bell Park.
A while ago I gave up this secret little gem for those Chowhounds in search of a great piece of cake in North Beach. I now retract that rec.
Alas, guess I'll have to sneak by the ball park one of these afternoons to see what's out there. Anyone else been there yet? I thought it was called "24."
