RW Lunch at Spice Market--oops we didn't expect so many...

RW Lunch at Spice Market:

Hostess sends us downstairs, stating that is where RW diners are seated. They don't know what to do with us downstairs, so they send us back upstairs. After being witness to panicked hostess asking server from downstairs for more menus upstairs, she stares at us for what seems like two minutes. Seated upstairs, waiter appears with menus. Looks hopeful: RW Lunch: choice of crunchy squid or vegetable medley.
Main course: sea bass or beef. Dessert: Ice cream or chocolate wafer with banana brulee. We order: one of each appetizer, two bass and two chocolate/banana desserts. One glass of wine.

One appetizer is presented ten minutes later (no wine). Ask for wine, it is brought cheerfully.
Ask for second appetizer...it arrives ten minutes later. Inform waiter I have to be back to work, appreciate if main course could be brought promptly.
Fifteen minutes later, one bass. Our other bass seems to be given to neighboring table. Repeated requests for second bass received with sincere regret by waiter, who informs us that restaurant not prepared for number of RW diners today. Earlier in week, no problem. Friday, too many. Would we like some rice while we are waiting for our second bass? No, thank you.

The bass, in two servings, is wonderful, I might add.
The crispy squid, as well: a delightful mixture of citrus, herbs and fresh squid, lightly breaded and sauteed.

Dessert: one chocolate/banana platter followed by ice cream. We didn't order ice cream. Second chocolate/banana arrives ten minutes later.

Check: I don't mean to be petty, but they charged us $20.12 instead of $20.05. And $9 for the wine that arrived twenty minutes late. Sorry, folks. We have a right to expect better service from one of NY's finest restaurants, don't we? Our waiter was sincerely apologetic, but never did a hostess offer any apologies, nor were we offered more than a bowl of rice as compensation for our inconvenience. At least comp the wine!!

My previous lunch during this week showed no evidence of discriminatory treatment of RW diners (Nougatine).
Spice Market clearly did discriminate on the basis of RW customers.
