RW lunch: Butterfield 9

I just returned from lunch with three friends from work at Butterfield 9, normally one of my favorite places. The selection for lunch was a bit limited, but not too bad:

Starter:
Soup du Jour (today was a wild mushroom soup with salmon raviolo)
Arugula Salad
Gazpacho with Crabmeat

Main:
Moroccan Salmon with Couscous
Dijon Chicken Breast
Vegetable Risotto

Dessert:
Chocolate-Espresso Roulade
Creme Brulee
Sorbet du Jour (today was Raspberry)

I had the soup, salmon, and sorbet (very alliterative). The soup was scrumptious, the salmon was shaky and the sorbet was stupendous. The soup had wonderful little chunks (specks, really) of mushroom in it, so it had a nice mouth feel (not just creamy, it gave you something to chew, too). The sorbet had a very rich, fruity flavor. But the salmon came with a sauce that struck me as being far too sweet and ketchupy. This may be the way the Moroccans like it (after all, b'steeya is famously sweet, despite being made with poultry), but it did not suit my taste well. And finally, apropos of a post elsewhere about pet peeves, it annoys me no end that so many restaurants, B9 included, cannot make a decent cup of espresso!!
