Decided to check out Sorellina this week, but was really disappointed with the service (or I should say, disappointed with the service considering the prices) and so I finished my drink and walked around the corner to Domani instead.
They are doing a RW-only menu, with a lot of choices, and the serving sizes are huge. I was really surprised when I saw the first courses coming out of the kitchen. I wasn't hungry enough for 3 courses, and since I was sitting at the bar, they let me order something a la carte instead. I ordered the pizzette which was really great. I'd go back weekly just for one of these darlings. Thin crust (it was a bit too dense--needed some more air in the dough - but the edges were nice and crunchy), a whisper of tomato sauce and a bit of whipped ricotta, topped with sopresata (sp?) and a melted hard cheese (can't remember what it was, but it was tasty). Also topped with just a bit of very finely sliced green onion and thin slices of pepperocini. The crust was brushed with a very bright, flavorful olive oil that really shone through as well--this was one of my favorite components actually.
Anyway, if you're looking for a RW value - this is it. Other apps that I saw coming out of the kitchen were pork ribs (3 big ones) and a gazpacho with a mini-grilled cheese. Even the bartender said he was surprised that they didn't tone down the serving sizes for RW. I'll assume that by limiting the menu, they can save on costs. (I recall seeing Bistro 5 do this in years past during RW, and that's another place where I visited which I thought was quite a value for the price.) I'll see if I can rustle up some hungry dining companions and a bigger appetite and head back next week.
