Restaurants & Bars Los Angeles Area

Rustic Canyon

Went last night and it was really good. Very cute space, with a nice lounge area that is first-come first served (we arrived around 8:15 on a Saturday night and there were no tables available until 10pm, but we quickly scored one of the little lounge tables within 10 minutes of being there). They have a great selection of wines by the glass, and I had a really nice Morgan "Cotes du Crow's" that was $12/per glass. Highly recommended! The menu was creative and had a nice selection of items. Even several options for me and my vegetarian dining companion to share, which is often hard to find. We ordered their Mixed Moroccan Salad Plate as well as the Artisanal Cheese Plate with Warm Raisin Bread. Both were delicious, but quite small! I was definitely still hungry after sharing the two plates. I also wished that I knew what I was eating...I took a pretty spot-on educated guess, but it would have been nicer if the waiter took the time to explain what each salad and cheese was. For dessert, we shared the Rocky Road Bread Pudding which was huge and delicious. I always look for the chocolate dessert on a menu, and this certainly satisfied my craving.
All in all, I enjoyed this restaurant and am glad we tried it. I live in West Hollywood and because we happened to be over in the Westwood area for a party, we decided to venture the couple more miles West to give Rustic Canyon a shot. To be honest, I don't know if this is going to be a regular spot for me because it's "out of the way," but if I lived close by, I'd be there regularly.
