Finally got around to making this-
Spiced Carrot and Lentil Soup (from http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/20...)
2 tsp cumin seeds
pinch chilli flakes
2 tbsp olive oil
600g carrots , washed and coarsely grated (no need to peel)
140g split red lentils
1l hot vegetable stock (from a cube is fine)
I thought I got all the amounts right, but at the end of the recipe it s says you can use a can of coconut milk instead. I took this to assume you could use the WHOLE can!! But apparently 125ml of milk is 4oz...not 15 like the can I used...
Did I ruin the soup? Any hope for salvage? It's cooking now and looks like water...
