...and i don't mean that in a positive way. found myself in lower chelsea the other night, looking for a quick, relaxing place to grab a bite before meeting some friends at a show. usually, i'd pop into one of the cuban-chinese places, but my lunch consisted of a huge platter of rice and beans so i wasn't in the mood.
rue des crepes looked promising enough--not terribly expensive, not terribly heavy meals--so i gave it a go. i guess i should've been warned off when, while perusing the menu, i kept hearing the microwave bell dinging merrily along. but i stayed the course.
a wild mushroom crepe that featured scalding hot 'shrroms (heavy on the stems) wrapped in a cold crepe with the chewy, almost brittle consistency of an unsteamed moo shu wrapper.on the side, a mini salad of very good greens that retained most of the water they were washed in, creating a good sized puddle on the plate.
anyone had better results here?
