Royal's Hearthside in Rutland

So my mother wanted to go the more traditional route even tho I was itching for Little Harry's after another recommendation. But it was good for what it was and I hadn't had a popover in years, I love those things. You get the old style tray of carrots, pickles, olives, and some cheese with packaged crackers to start. I had stuffed sole w/ newburg sauce and my mother had a chicken dinner. Meals came with salad, a veggie side and choice of starch (altho our waitress left off fries on the list and also forgot to offer ground pepper for the salad and scrape the crumbs off the table like the others) . The main menu is very predictable altho they had a few specials that showed a little pizazz. Dessert was supposed to be coconut cream pie but was actually coconut custard which was good but not as advertised. Got a drink at the Sirloin Saloon or something like that before and they had a nice choice of fancy "martinis" and the added entertainment of all the kids showing up for prom nite.
