Roscoe's & Euro Pane (short reviews)

Thanks to all for recommending Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles. The whole family went to the Pasadena location last Sunday.

The chicken breast was crispy on the outside and juicy and flavorful right to the bone--yum. I liked the addition of cinnamon and nutmeg or mace (best guess) to the waffles. (We buttered the leftovers at the restaurant, then baked them the next day--almost as good!) Our server was very nice--gave us a taste of the candied yams and mac & cheese, both excellent.

This is my kind of food--we will definitely be back.

{The only negative was the noise level (all hard surfaces), at one point my 2 year old covered his ears.}

Later in the afternoon we went to Euro Pane. We ordered cookies and many pastries. None (but the pear/fig tart) impressed us much. I would be glad to have this bakery in my neighborhood, but I would not consider it a "destination" bakery (like La Brea Bakery or Amandine).
