Valentine's is on the way, and I'm looking to find the best romantic restaurants in New York.
Now, before you start replying, I'm not looking to hear "One If By Land" 30 times. My idea of romance does not involve overwrought proposals, big diamonds and trips to resorts in the Bahamas. I'm thinking more along the lines of a restaurant for people who think trekking together in the Himalayas is romantic, or finding themselves in a hookah bar in Bombay, or discovering a dimly lit, rustic tea-house in an unassuming Seoul basement. (This is not to rule out French or Continental, by the way -- just to rule out dull.)
Some romantic spots I can think of are the old Blah Blah (before it went lounge) and Khyber Pass on St. Mark's Place, especially those window seats. That should give you an idea of what I'm thinking of.
Also, price *is* a consideration; I would love to keep this meal under $100, and I am just totally unconvinced that the really expensive restaurants are the best in town.
