Romantic, dark, semiformal, French restaurant

Hello,

Tomorrow night is a special night, a birthday dinner, for a special someone who happens to be my 4th date, I need a reccomendation for a non stuffy, informal French restaurant with romantic vibe.

While I should have booked a restaurant way ahead of time, I just knew about it myself. So I really need a reccomendation for a really nice French restaurant with a non stuffy setting, preferable dark and romantic but still an excellent food.

Places like Jean Georges, Daniel, Cafe Boulud, Bouley, Chanterelle, Le Bernadin, Le Cirque are of course out of the question at this point. Any reccomendations ? Prefer between midtown - village/meatpacking and nothing lower than Canal St.
