we went the other night for dinner - we've been meaning to go since before it opened. The space is beautiful. You can't get a better location for the view - though the walls inside don't allow for great viewing from all seats. The menu... I read it a few times without any item jumping out at me saying EAT ME! It was difficult to choose - not because everything sounded so good (as is my usual problem) but nothing sounded - anything. The dishes aren't described and most of them could certainly use some explanations. We settled on the mushroom tart and scallops for appetizers. The tart was okay. It had a good crisp feel to it when cut into with a fork but that crispness didn't really exist once you put it in your mouth. It lacked flavor and texture. The scallops were fantastic. Lots of flavor, the right amount of spice, presentation was great -they're served on a bed of beets. The best dish we had. Then we had... John Dory stuffed with fois gras -which was very tasty. also very heavy. And... the veal prepared three ways...actually came out as veal prepared two ways with a rice pilaf as a substitute for the third way. Rice? as a substitute for veal? Ah a special thing tonight said our waiter - maybe he would have liked to tell us before he served it.
The room is beautiful - really gorgeous and maybe I dont get out enough but I loved the sink in the women's restroom. We did talk to the manager because the music was loud enough to be the backdrop for a nightclub - we were there before 8 on a weeknight and there were only 3 or 4 other tables occupied.
overall: INTERESTING menu - though not inviting
food: some was very good some needed some help - maybe the chef was off that night?
price: Very EXPENSIVE
atmosphere: It's gorgeous - but I'm not sure what they want to create
