In town yesterday and leaving today.
We had dinner at Rio Mar last night- very good. I started with the platter of assorted tapas and followed with the house version of Chicken Grande - chicken sauteed with garlic and rosemary, with fried potato rounds on the side. I thought this was a particularly fine dish, but actually it reminded me more of Tujague's Chicken Bonne Femme, which it resembled in not being served in the pool of oil and whole cloves of garlic that Mosca's presents with their definitive Chicken Grande.
Frank had TWO entrees - the Zarzuela di Mariscos and the Hanger Steak.
We killed a bottle of the Riberio di Duerio - the label indicated Hazor or Hazan, not bad at $45. At home we opened a botle of organic Norman cider and had the cider-calvados concotion I think they call Pommeau for our nightcap.
