ok... so, I hadn't been there in almost 2 years before I went again on Saturday evening. I was glad to see it was still as stellar as always.
I had 3 tamales, 2 oaxaquenos, one rajas con queso.
Man, those oaxaquenos are the best I've EVER had in this part of the country. Has anyone ever found any better around these parts? I heard about a lady who sells them from a cart somewhere. I wonder how they compare? They are hard to find. What makes Rico's so good is the creaminess of the masa. The flavor rocks too, a good, complex sauce which nicely accompanies the pork, all with that unique banana leaf accent. Mmmmmm.
The rajas con queso tamal was good as well. Better than most places around, though it isn't to the same amazing level as the oaxaquenos.
I need to repent for not going lately and begin frequenting the place regularly again.
