We've been to Vancouver before but I've never had a chance to explore Richmond and this time I meant to check it out - a week (5/20-27/06) wasn't enough...
Here's what we saw:
Abeerdeen Mall: A multi-story, very modern and rather sterile mostly Japanese place. Didn't really appeal to me - I like funkier places I guess...
Parker Place Mall: Fairly large food court but again, too modern looking. Lots of high school age kids hang out here - not my scene.
Richmond Public Market: Now this is more what I want - second floor is all food stalls. We tried several things here inlcuding XLBs (not the best I've had but tasty). Unfortunately the stall called Beijing-Shanghai Delicacies apparently changed hands several months ago and they don't do XLBs there anymore - this was a reco from Gary Soup dated 4/3/06 - I was bummed at this as he said they were the best he had tried there...) Again, way too many choices and only the 2 of us...
Yaohan: browsed around the grocery but the food stalls on the second floor were mostly out of business or closed.
I now realize that I need to spend about a month in Vancouver - didn't even make it to any of the high-end, high profile places. Maybe next year!
