Stopped in at Ribs 'n Bibs last night. I'm in a mad rush to check out all the Hyde Park and SouthSide eateries I can before I move back to the near NW side...
We ordered a Beef BBQ sandwich and a slab of Texas Style Beef Ribs.
The sandwich was good, the sauce is mild and a bit sweet for my tastes. Big portion, lots of fries and of course, white bread to soak up the excess sauce.
I dug into the Beef Ribs (they looked wonderful with a char on the edges and meat falling off in places as I seperated ribs) and ate two before even thinking. By the third rib, I began to feel a bit queesy from the combination of the fat and sauce. I think for me, there is a fine line when it comes to BBQ - Sometimes the richness is just too much, and this was the case last night. It just didn't go down right, tho the first two were delicious. Again, maybe the sauce was just too sweet for me, or the texture too tender (is that sinful to say?)...
Still, for a joint that is walking distance from most of Hyde Park, I'd go back for a BBQ Sandwich. I think I'm building up a phobia of ribs.
