Review our Weekend Eating Plans for a First-Timer?

Okay 'hounds, let's see how I've done planning dining options for my friend's first visit to the city...

Lunches:
Cheese course at Artisanal
Eleven Madison Park
Gramercy Tavern

Breakfast:
If the planets align we might get into Balthazar?

Dinner:
Fleur de Sel looks interesting, but also has a $25 prix fixe 3-course lunch.
Veritas just didn't look that interesting to me - am I way off?
We're lacking an Italian option, something affordable - 'Inoteca?

We're staying in the East Village, so easily we'll get to:
Katz's
and there's a cuban sandwich in the 'hood that I've heard about
Also considering Moroccan / N. African / Turkish in that 'hood

Chinatown:
I'm a big fan of the dumpling house on Eldridge below Broome
Perhaps a bahn mi from that store on Lafayette just below Canal

Dim Sum? I feel like I've tried everything and gone back to the ol' school Harmony Palace on Mott. Ping's was cool for a more upscale feel. Jing Fong didn't seem worth it. Golden Unicorn was crap. Never tried Dim Sum Go Go.

Maybe we'll get to Sweet n Tart or New Green Bo or NY Noodletown - suggestions?

Is there a favorite NY slice below 14th Street?

**I wish we had a week, an unlimited budget and a personal trainer!**
