Went to La Esquina Saturday night, and the food and drinks were very solid, reasonably priced, and enhanced by a nice decor with considerate waitstaff.
Drinks: Went with four other people, each of whom had at least one margarita and one shot of tequila. They have at least 100 varieties, can't remember what we all ordered, but they are all accompanied by a spicy tomato juice chaser that I loved. It tasted like a very intense bloody mary.
Appetizers: I had the ceviche de acapulco with avocado, tomato, lime, jalapeno, and other things which was excellent. The table also had tortilla soup, a fish tostada, a shrimp ceviche, and the salad mixta. All were very good, the best being the ceviches.
Entrees: I had the guava glazed ribs, which were outstanding, although the fried plantaines on the side could have been crunchier on the outside. Others had the grilled fish, the mussels, and the stuffed chili. The guava glaze on the ribs was delicious, very subtle and went will with the very tender meat.
I would go back.
