It's a little early for this post, but as many have reported, "Finally, after years of keeping this serious pig out of the country, the feds are allowing us to eat this ham in the States. Tienda.com is now taking orders for bone-in Iberico bellota hams for winter 2008 delivery" (quote from Serious Eats, but it could have been anybody).
As discussed elsewhere, I have a soft spot for Dalí. When the news first came down that Ibérico was going to be available in the US, everyone there was talking about it. But I don't know whether they've ordered a leg or not. And, come to think of it, I don't know anybody who's ordering one.
I sure can't pay $1,200 for a ham, but I'll happily pay the markup for a smaller portion. Does anyone know what local restaurants have reserved one?
