Bistromaison is my favorite restaurant in the entire Willamette Valley, including Portland and Salem. I have eaten there many times in the two years that it has been open, and each time I thoroughly enjoyed the authentic traditional French bistro cooking of the chef/co-owner, Jean Jacques. His cooking is better than the more expensive restaurants we've been to.
The ambiance is beautiful, up-scale yet very traditional country French with a gorgeous patio for outside dining. Jean Jacques' wife and co/owner, Deborah, is always making us feel at home with her hellos, smiles, and attentive service. We never feel rushed and love to talk with them and the other customers.
I have gone through most of the items on the menu and every one has been delicious. The wine list is extensive, with a great representation of the local Pinot Noir vineyards, and, at very fair prices.
I've seen locals bring baskets of greens and vegetables from their gardens into the kitchen.
My only regret is that it is closed on Monday, Tuesday and the month of January. But, that's the French way.
