Just came from rest. week lunch at l'impero. It was totally satisfying. I had the mushrooms with creamy polenta: delicious. perfectly creamy polenta and savory mushrooms with truffle oil. (other choices were squash soup and some kind of salad); entree choices were a roasted chicken, pasta w/tomato sauce and branzino. I had the branzino - served over a bed of perfectly cooked carrots and small bits of barley? and roasted garlic, with baby watercress garnish. yumm. The dessert: sesame cannoli with mascarpone filling on a pile of fresh strawberries and rasberries - incredible - totally unlike any "cannoli" I've ever eaten. Unfortunately, I was so full I only managed to cram in a few bites.
