I'm anticipating a driving trip to Portland, in late August. We're probably only making one night, so I want to make it count. I'm reading some of the older threads, but I just want to get a general pulse on Portland dining.
Is there a particular cuisine that Portland or the area is known for? Is it still the Pacific Northwest kind of cusine (lots of local shellfish, salmon, etc)? blueberries?
What are some of the destination restaurants are in Portland? Where the chef or the cuisine is very cutting edge or really showcases the local produce?
