Report back: Festive Foods catering and Addies

Thanks in part to hounds, for our rehearsal dinner we chose Addie's in Rockville. While I got quite the scare the morning of, in that they didn't have us down as coming (!!!), they still gave us the room. Service was nice and the food even better. I got compliments on choosing the place. There is limited seating in the private room, but they can do more in a creative way.

For our wedding, we chose Festive Foods. The apps were great and the food was good - probably the only thing off with the food was with any large crowd like that - everything isn't just perfectly hot off the grill. But I liked that the plate had salmon and chicken, and the "salad" was three differently colored tomatoes with mozzarella and a viniagrette.

The service from Festive Foods, though, was outstanding. A waiter was sent out with drinks and a platter of apps while we took pictures. The bartender was outstanding all night, and the dinner staff was like an orchestra, moving speedily and well in concert. They did all the things that should be normal, like holding off serving while there was a toast, and the bartender knew that I was the groom from the get go and would send a drink out to me as soon as I started walking up, and I heard that he remembered many guests drinks after serving the first one.

Both places have my strong recommendation.
