Because I hate reading on Monday morning about some great foodie event that took place the preceeding weekend, I am giving everyone an early head's up to this weekend's Chinese Food Festival which is taking place in Chinatown on Saturday and Sunday. I think this is the second time they have done this.
For those of us bemoaning the loss of Malan on Garvey, it seems that the chef from Malan will be at the festival demonstrating making hand pulled noodles. In addition to other demonstrations, if you want to escape from the heat, they will be showing "Eat Drink Man Woman" and "The Wedding Banquet."
My older pup is very excited about the "fear factor" eating contest for kids. Too bad there's nothing really scary involved---just 1000 year old eggs, chicken feet and jellyfish.
Tickets are $10 but there is a $2 discount if you use public transportation.
