Oh, it was the best thing ever and I still hallucinate about it fondly.
The Buddha filling was chewy wheat gluten strips, with garlic, chili and lemongrass, mixed with a mayonnaise-y dressing. Stuffed in a bun with all the usual banh mi toppings, it was a $1.50 worth of Heaven.
Do any of the purveyors of fine banh mi in town have anything like it?
