Relish - Sparkill, NY

We went to Relish on Saturday night. I was happy to see. The restaurant was full, and with a reservation we waited about 10 min. The meal was good, but acoustically something needs to be done. They put some light jazz on towards the end of the evening when things died down, but before that it was silent, except for conversations, and you could hear everyone’s.
4 of us went, appetizers, shrimp tempura salad - standard battered fried shrimp, topped with a chili aioli?, the greens had a bit too much dressing. Special app. of heirloom tomatoes was better, each tomato had a distinct taste ($13.00...) Clam chowder, nice light white broth, briny clam flavor, very tasty. Grilled calamari and chorizo, I just didn't like the combination of the 2 flavors. Entrees, grilled salmon with some type of glaze, tasty, 3 of us ordered N.Y. strip steak and all 3 were pleased. I had the roasted garlic steak special with frites. The frites were excellent, sprinkled with coarse salt, and parsley. The steak was served sliced, tender and very flavorful. In lieu of ketchup the gave me a garlic aioli. Dessert, chocolate brioche pudding was just ok, I didn't like the berries that were added to the dish, it would have been better without them. Also the caramelized bananas were good, but didn't go. I think that was just me, others would probably like it. We had 2 bottles of pinot griggio, and 2 coffees, the bill came to $195.00. I hope the do well, I look forward to going again.
