Had dinner last night before a concert at the Beacon. We were seated at a table in the back room with two people nearly on top of us...I asked for a booth but alas, there were none.
I have to tell you, I had brunch at Red Farm downtown and while it was good, it was just that, good. This dinner, was nothing short of fantastic!
We started with their soup dumplings- which is one of my favorite dishes anywhere, and Red Farm's version is excellent! Full of soup and the crab filling is great. The duck shooters were very cool and the spare ribs were to die for.
Needless to say we were pretty full at this point, but had to order dinner anyway. Their salmon was amazing. Recommended by our excellent server, the salmon literally melted in your mouth. I am not a huge salmon fan, but this version was the best I've ever had. Next, we had the chicken with the crispy skin. This was amazing. perfectly cooked chicken, amazingly crispy skin, and very cool sides- squeeze a lemon on the chicken- brings out great flavors!! Lastly we had the mei fun noodles. This was our least favorite dish of the night. Their bacon and egg fried rice is much better but you can't win them all.
All I can say is, this is one of the best meals I've had all year. Food and service were really, really great. Portions were large, and a good time was had by all.
PS: to the jerk in the yellow shorts and sneakers yelling at the host that he knows the owners and he wants a better table.....go home and order in take out Chinese...this place is too good for your nonsense!
