Hi all,
I will be at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth for a conference the first week in Oct. Lunches and one dinner will be provided, but I need recomendations for three or four evening meals. I will have colleagues in tow that don't want to spend too much, but I insist on interesting, nice places with great food!
Any thoughts? Walking distance or short cab rides and maybe one meal in Old Montreal would be best.
Here is a list of possibilities I have come up with after some surfing (perhaps someone can comment on whether or not these would qualify as not too expensive?):
Cafe Bonaparte
L'Actuel
Chez L'Epicier
The Keg vs Gibby's ?
Olio
Entrecote St Jean
Queue Cheval
Maestro s.v.p.
the three places in the hotel:
Beaver Club
Le Montrealais
Les Voyageurs

To make matters more complicated, I have Celiac Disease and cannot eat wheat, barely, rye, or oats, so I always have to make a special request of the kitchen/chef. Nicer, non-fast food places work best for this.

Any advice is welcome! I am so looking forward to my first trip to Montreal

Thanks!
Pam in Chicago
