Thank you everybody for all the wonderful suggestions. My friend and I decided to try Bengal Cafe on Mass Ave. Unfortunately we arrived while they were closed (they close from 3-5). It was sooo cold that we didn't want to walk around looking for another place. I wish we did.
We ended up going across the street to a place called Thailand Cafe. I've seen it before on my many trips to LOTTE (the Korean grocery store near Bengal Cafe) but never heard anything about it. The place was tiny, no thrills decor, and empty. Maybe this should have been a sign.
The menu was odd. Not many Thai dishes and a lot of fusion and americanized Chinese dishes. This too should have been a sign. I got the Pad See Ew with chicken. It wasn't very good. The sauce wasn't flavorful and there wasn't much of it. AND they used american broccoli instead of Chinese broccoli. I wasn't impressed.
On the bright side we went to the Super 88 Food Connection later and ate at the food court. I tried the new Vietnamese place. They had lots of specials not listed on the menu. I got the nam vang and it was good. Not the best nam vang I've ever had but it was a pretty good version for a small food court. Tender slices of pork, ground pork, a bundle of rice noodles (I requested rice noodles instead of clear), a few quail eggs, fried onions, and a nice amount of greens.
Thanks again for the suggestions and I'll be sure to check the restaurant hours before I try a place!
