What an interesting restaurant. It went into where the old los compadres was by the Tallahassee mall. From the outside it looks like the same but the inside has been cleaned up a lot. My DH made me go last Sunday and it was much better than I expected. The owners had a florida restaurant in pittsburg and decided to open a pittsburg restaurant in Florida. The menu was much different than what I had expected (average bar food).
They have perrogies (spelled right?), crab cakes, and really nice starter menu. I had the panko crusted fried mozz. triangles. All of their breads, french fries, chips, dressings, etc. are homemade. My DH had a wonderful stuffed meatloaf sandwich for lunch (stuffed with mashed potatoes and covered in gravy). It was really good. I tried the chicken tortilla soup which was good but not enough chicken. The conch chowder was also good but very peppery.
Besides lunch they serve small plates and entrees at dinner. It is a neat northern twist to a southern menu. My DH has been back several times for lunch meetings. He dared to try the fried bologne sandwich with french fries and coleslaw on it. He is now addicted, I am still trying to get up my nerve.
