Ray's Marlin Beach Bar & Grill--Pittsburgh

Several friends and I had been trying to get to Ray’s Marlin Beach Bar & Grill for several weeks, busy schedules delayed us until yesterday.

One of the major finds here are the Empanadas. Wow, the black bean also had golden raisins and annatto. The chicken had a bit of heat and they are served with cilantro cream. They also have beef which we did not try.. A woman from Cuba makes those, and a very tasty flan for dessert.

Ray’s carries a large selection of interesting beers.

I had a Cobb salad that had apple wood smoked bacon, delicious chicken and they make all of their own dressings. My only disappointment was that the salad had no egg. Doesn’t Cobb salad always have egg?

My friend had a very good looking burger with bacon and blue cheese, and the onion rings! Puffy and golden, yet light.

Everything is so fresh and homemade here. However I caution you, Ray’s is a bar, with a few tables in the back.

Every Thursday they have what is called “Yiddish Day” which is when they serve potato pancakes and matzo ball soup. I can’t wait to try that.
Enjoy
