Fellow steak folks, has the quality of Ray's gone down a bit?

I have been three times over the years, and thought is was great. My son says they have opened a place in Silver Spring. And both places have dropped in quality since the main guy has dropped out of the daily picture running the kitchen. I guess even superman has to rest a bit.

Prices are a bit higher than my first visits checking the menu. Could be my memory too!!! But I had always had a great meal at Ray's, well he was cooking then too, and want some other opinions from regulars & others.

I wandered in, out of curiosity, my first time, no reservation. Cant get over my good luck that day... Great value - Best Steak in Town.

What other place's are comparable today, value, quality, ya cant beat the parking at Ray's, or the service then.

Several times I've gone to Cap Grill, Morton's, Ruth's, Smith & W's, but the only diff on my AmEx bill was $75-$100 more than Ray's for environmental actors, and fancy eating tables.

I think the funky ol place is quite ok really. I don’t need to eat in a themepark, or arena, to enjoy a good meal.

Anyplace else interesting out there?
Has anyone gone to the Silver Spring place?

Should I get back in line for reservations @ Ray’s, or just thank my lucky star I savored those times?
