I am leaving a 36" Dacor cooktop with 5 burners but the simmer one was so stupidly small and in the middle of the cooktop so you couldn't use it because although it had 5 burners only 4 pans really fit on the cooktop at one time. I have never cooked on a Wolf, Thermador, or Viking rangetop. I cook alot but need some guidance as to what to get in a new kitchen. Is a rangetop overkill for a home cook? Is a cooktop significantly lower powered? Is there a manufacturer that most people like? I have read lots of the "threads" because finding reviews on the web is IMPOSSIBLE, ( BTW - don't bother joining Consumer Reports - which I did - because they don't carry enough top of the line appliance to help) but I can't find an cooktop or rangetop that gets good reviews.
So - Range top vs. Cooktop?
6 burners would be fabulous after 4 pretending to be 5 bit I have been told to get the griddle too. The separate induction module is for a different day.
Wolf? Viking? Thermador? Blue Star?
