Quincy's Barbeque, Milpitas

Bung | Nov 2, 2005 03:08 PM

So I'm driving down Main street in Milpitas and I notice an Open sign in Quincys and after some consternation because I was in the mood for Indian or Mexican, I decide to give Quincy's a try.

I step inside and am surrounded by the smell of old hickory and years of flavors. I am confounded with what to order, I finally settle on a 'Sliced Beef Sandwich' for 7.00 (Hot Sauce, Cole Slaw), to go.

Not really knowing whats in store for me back at the office, I open the brown bag and find a couple slices of wheat bread carefully sealed in plastic on top of a napkin to keep it the right level of moisture. Below that is a basket of meat swimming in a lovely sauce, little flecks of fresh chile are evident.

A little disappointed by the bread I make a sandwich which used about 1/2 the meat. One bite tells me that this is the best BBQ sauce I have EVER tasted (very tangy, hot as heck) and the meat is smoked through and just a nice chewing texture.

The cole slaw is Col Sanders Style which I like. Perfect to rest the palate from the tang and heat.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Sign says they make their own hot links. Next time. Also Ribs, Chicken, Corn Muffin, Cole Slaw, Potato Pie etc.
