First, thank you for the great response to my questions about dining in NYC and Babbos. I have always had good experiences with the New Orleans and the Seattle site. Its nice to see the same thing here.
That said, I am somewhat apprehensive after reading the recent thread relating to Disappointed with Babbos. While we do get out of our small KY city upon occasion, we have not been to NYC in approximately ten years. We are a very, low key, (older) couple who absolutely love food but dont pretend to know a lot about it.
Since we have only one night in the City, should we give up our 10 PM reservations at Babbos (Sunday night, August 10) and look for a more comfortable place where out-of-towners might feel more welcome? That is, assuming that it is not too late.
Yet, I did fall in love with the food as described on this site and as shown in the on-site menu. Perhaps we should just be at the bar when they open?
Can you get the tasting menu at the bar?
Assuming we stay with our current plans, what is the dress for blending in? Classic smart casual for my wife? Dress shirt, no jacket for me?
Thanks again for all the help.
