Any hounds who have been, maybe you can give me some insight.
I have been planning to take my parents out for their 50th anniversary...and was thinking about the Studio at the Montage Resort .
They live in Laguna, and I think the location would be really nice, my mother takes walks in the park there often.
Well, I have just taken a peek at the online menu....and the pricing is possibly out of my range. I hate to sound like a cheapskate, but honestly, for the 4 of us, my parents, my self and husband, it will be 450+.
So my question is, is the food all that???
Also, do you think they might provide menus without prices for our guests, because if my mother saw the prices, she would never get over a $20- beet salad.... maybe for my husband too......
When you think of spending almost $500 for a dinner, that is over in less than 2 hours, I just wonder if i could'nt get them a gift instead that would last longer, ( I recently spent almost $300- building and planting raised tomato beds at their house...that's the kind of gift I feel good about the $) and make dinner myself...
OK and one last question...can i get away with only have a starter and a glass of wine... I am a light eater...
Now I do sound like the wrong side of the tracks, but I am just getting out of the credit card debt I had before I married, and for some of us it is hard to stomach spending SO much on food...
So again...for those of you lucky folks that can afford such indulgence...is the Studio quality of food all that...or are they skipping to the bank on the view?
