Hello,

Me and my family really love italian Restaurants, and every year, to start off the holiday, I invite my family out for a memorable dinner. I know montreal is not known for its italian culture, but im still wondering if there is any hidden gems. here is what i've tried so far:

Buenna Notte,
Otto,
Grazziella,
primadonna,
Bu,
Bottega,
Bice,
Kabanna,
La tomate blanche,

I am looking for somewhat a great atmosphere ( NOT SUPPER CLUB), but also don't want it to feel like a wake. great food, hopefully handmade pastas maybe pizza too. In toronto, I've really enjoyed Terronni, and i am kind of a fan of all of the battali restaurant I've tried ( Babbo, Mozza, Mozza piezzeria). our last few meals in montreal have been la colombe and Europea, so i'd like it to be a little upscale.

i've had the following possible ideas:

Osteria Venti
Hostaria
Primo & Secundo
Da emma
Il cortile

but pretty much all of them have both stellar review and abysmal one... anyone care of chime in with suggestion that do not involve a plane ticket?

thank you
