First trip to Provence in August, a few years ago we had great experiences at local auberges in the Languedoc region. This time we'll be in the Beaumes-de-Venise/Avignon area and while we plan on visiting a few Michelin restos we're really looking for everyone's favorite version of the honest, simple, resto that reflects the local traditions and terroir.
We are particularly drawn to seafood (my hubby the butcher has unfortunately developed an allergy to fish, but not, thank god, shellfish) and charcutrie.
We will have a car and being Canadian are not averse to long drives for good food. Any recommendations are appreciated.
